Northerm Windows are available in 3 basic
configurations; casement operators, awning operators, and fixed picture
windows. A wide variety of accessories are available to take the basic
configurations and transform them into ultra high performance, custom
designs to match your construction or renovation needs.
The use of special couplers allows us to combine these basic
designs into much more complex configurations to match your specific
design. The large variety of accessories and colors available can make
these configurations, complex or simple, easier to install and more
attractive.

Standard Colors
|
There are 6 standard colors offered (besides white) for the vinyl window brickmoulding (read below for more info on vinyl brickmould ), and the vinyl frames are available in several color combinations:
- Beige exterior with White interior
- Beige exterior with Beige interior
- Brown exterior with White interior

|
Yes, we can produce a vinyl window in any color of the rainbow! We can generally match the color of any paint chip, just bring us a sample. |
Insulated Glass
|
All Northerm Windows come standard with Insul-Therm triple pane insulated glass units. Lower cost Insul-Therm double pane units are also an option, although the thermal performance of the window will change considerably. Keep in mind that a myriad of different glazing substitutions are also
available upon request, even if we don't stock it we can get the
glazing type that you need.

Hardware
|
All Northerm Windows are assembled with heavy duty stainless steel Truth Hardware, which comes with a lifetime warranty. The ultra-low maintenance Truth Hardware has proven to be a peak performer for years.

Housing Colors
|
The interior casement crank housing and handle are available in white or beige to match your window's interior color.

Handle Types
|
Along with the standard crank handle, a folding handle (perfect for getting out of the way of vertical blinds) and handicap accessible handles certified to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act are available upon request.

Vinyl Brick Moulding
|
A replacement for classic wood exterior casing and
trim, our vinyl brick mouldings require no maintenance and are covered
by the Northerm Window 20 year extrusion warranty.
As illustrated, the vinyl brick mouldings are attached and sealed to
the Northerm Window frame via the use of our specialized attachment
system. The use of brick mouldings allows for a pair of additional
installation methods; using the incorporated nailing fin the window can
be installed on new construction or renovations where siding has yet to
be applied, or by removing the nailing fin then drilling a series of
3/8" holes through the outer skin of the brick mould and using the
inner skin of the brick mould as the nailing flange the window can be
installed inside of an existing gap in the siding (a small color
matching hole plug is installed to cover the hole). The latter method
is tremendously popular in the residential renovation market, because
of the amount of time and labor saved by simply removing the old window
and casing, then installing a new unit that fits perfectly into the
existing hole and gap in the siding.
As the name implies, deepset brick mould allows the window to be set
deeper into a thick wall, thus minimizing the amount of interior trim
work that will need to be done. Though it is not a commonly used
accessory, the deepset brick mould affords a design option that
provides a solution to non-standard thick wall projects.

Interior Accessories
|
Our maintenance free interior accessories are
designed to make the installation and finishing of your Northerm Window
as attractive and cost effective as possible.
The 3/4", 5/8", and 1/2" returns provide an inexpensive and
convenient way to transition the interior finish into the window.
Returns(also known as drywall returns) are basically a vinyl channel
that attaches to the Northerm Window, and the finish material (drywall,
wood, etc.) fits into this channel. Using returns results in a much
cleaner looking interior finish that is easier to install, saving you
time and money on the interior finish.
Jamb extension takes the concept of a convenient interior trim a step
farther by supplying the complete interior sill in a maintenance free
vinyl extrusion. With welded corners and the exact same finish as the
Northerm Window, jamb extension can make installation a breeze by
almost eliminating the work required to finish the window sill. Please
note that jamb extension is only available for standard wall
thicknesses of 4 1/2" and 6 1/2".
Our vinyl J channel is the solution for projects with non-standard wall
thicknesses up to 8 1/2" (window installed with nail fin or brick
mouldings) or 11 3/4" (window installed with deepset brick moulding).
Fabricated as a cap over plywood (both cut to fit the exact wall depth)
and installed into 3/4" return, maintenance free J channel exactly
matches the finish of the Northerm Window.
